1 Then Balaam said to Balak, “Build seven altars for me here, and prepare for me here seven bulls and seven rams.”
καὶ-εῖπεν-Βαλααμ-τῶ-Βαλακ-Οικοδόμησόν-μοι-ενταῦθα-επτὰ-βωμοὺς-καὶ-ετοίμασόν-μοι-ενταῦθα-επτὰ-μόσχους-καὶ-επτὰ-κριούς-.-
2 And Balak did just as Balaam had spoken, and Balak and Balaam offered a bull and a ram on each altar.
καὶ-εποίησεν-Βαλακ-ὸν-τρόπον-εῖπεν-αυτῶ-Βαλααμ-,-καὶ-ανήνεγκεν-μόσχον-καὶ-κριὸν-επὶ-τὸν-βωμόν-.-
3 Then Balaam said to Balak, “Stand by your burnt offering, and I will go; perhaps the LORD will come to meet me, and whatever He shows me I will tell you.” So he went to a desolate height.
καὶ-εῖπεν-Βαλααμ-πρὸς-Βαλακ-Παράστηθι-επὶ-τῆς-θυσίας-σου-,-καὶ-πορεύσομαι-,-εί-μοι-φανεῖται-ο-θεὸς-εν-συναντήσει-,-καὶ-ρῆμα-,-ὸ-εάν-μοι-δείξη-,-αναγγελῶ-σοι-.-καὶ-παρέστη-Βαλακ-επὶ-τῆς-θυσίας-αυτοῦ-,-καὶ-Βαλααμ-επορεύθη-επερωτῆσαι-τὸν-θεὸν-καὶ-επορεύθη-ευθεῖαν-.-
4 And God met Balaam, and he said to Him, “I have prepared the seven altars, and I have offered on each altar a bull and a ram.”
καὶ-εφάνη-ο-θεὸς-τῶ-Βαλααμ-,-καὶ-εῖπεν-πρὸς-αυτὸν-Βαλααμ-Τοὺς-επτὰ-βωμοὺς-ητοίμασα-καὶ-ανεβίβασα-μόσχον-καὶ-κριὸν-επὶ-τὸν-βωμόν-.-
5 Then the LORD put a word in Balaam’s mouth, and said, “Return to Balak, and thus you shall speak.”
καὶ-ενέβαλεν-ο-θεὸς-ρῆμα-εις-τὸ-στόμα-Βαλααμ-καὶ-εῖπεν-Επιστραφεὶς-πρὸς-Βαλακ-ούτως-λαλήσεις-.-
6 So he returned to him, and there he was, standing by his burnt offering, he and all the princes of Moab.
καὶ-απεστράφη-πρὸς-αυτόν-,-καὶ-όδε-εφειστήκει-επὶ-τῶν-ολοκαυτωμάτων-αυτοῦ-,-καὶ-πάντες-οι-άρχοντες-Μωαβ-μετ᾿-αυτοῦ-.-
7 And he took up his oracle and said: “Balak the king of Moab has brought me from Aram, From the mountains of the east. ‘Come, curse Jacob for me, And come, denounce Israel!’
καὶ-εγενήθη-πνεῦμα-θεοῦ-επ᾿-αυτῶ-,-καὶ-αναλαβὼν-τὴν-παραβολὴν-αυτοῦ-εῖπεν-Εκ-Μεσοποταμίας-μετεπέμψατό-με-Βαλακ-,-βασιλεὺς-Μωαβ-εξ-ορέων-απ᾿-ανατολῶν-λέγων-Δεῦρο-άρασαί-μοι-τὸν-Ιακωβ-καὶ-δεῦρο-επικατάρασαί-μοι-τὸν-Ισραηλ-.-
8 “How shall I curse whom God has not cursed? And how shall I denounce whom the LORD has not denounced?
τί-αράσωμαι-ὸν-μὴ-καταρᾶται-κύριος-,-ὴ-τί-καταράσωμαι-ὸν-μὴ-καταρᾶται-ο-θεός-;-
9 For from the top of the rocks I see him, And from the hills I behold him; There! A people dwelling alone, Not reckoning itself among the nations.
ότι-απὸ-κορυφῆς-ορέων-όψομαι-αυτὸν-καὶ-απὸ-βουνῶν-προσνοήσω-αυτόν-.-ιδοὺ-λαὸς-μόνος-κατοικήσει-καὶ-εν-έθνεσιν-ου-συλλογισθήσεται-.-
10 “Who can count the dust of Jacob, Or number one-fourth of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, And let my end be like his!”
τίς-εξηκριβάσατο-τὸ-σπέρμα-Ιακωβ-,-καὶ-τίς-εξαριθμήσεται-δήμους-Ισραηλ-;-αποθάνοι-η-ψυχή-μου-εν-ψυχαῖς-δικαίων-,-καὶ-γένοιτο-τὸ-σπέρμα-μου-ως-τὸ-σπέρμα-τούτων-.-
11 Then Balak said to Balaam, “What have you done to me? I took you to curse my enemies, and look, you have blessed them bountifully!”
καὶ-εῖπεν-Βαλακ-πρὸς-Βαλααμ-Τί-πεποίηκάς-μοι-;-εις-κατάρασιν-εχθρῶν-μου-κέκληκά-σε-,-καὶ-ιδοὺ-ευλόγηκας-ευλογίαν-.-
12 So he answered and said, “Must I not take heed to speak what the LORD has put in my mouth?”
καὶ-εῖπεν-Βαλααμ-πρὸς-Βαλακ-Ουχὶ-όσα-εὰν-εμβάλη-ο-θεὸς-εις-τὸ-στόμα-μου-,-τοῦτο-φυλάξω-λαλῆσαι-;-
13 Then Balak said to him, “Please come with me to another place from which you may see them; you shall see only the outer part of them, and shall not see them all; curse them for me from there.”
Καὶ-εῖπεν-πρὸς-αυτὸν-Βαλακ-Δεῦρο-έτι-μετ᾿-εμοῦ-εις-τόπον-άλλον-,-εξ-ῶν-ουκ-όψη-αυτὸν-εκεῖθεν-,-αλλ᾿-ὴ-μέρος-τι-αυτοῦ-όψη-,-πάντας-δὲ-ου-μὴ-ίδης-,-καὶ-κατάρασαί-μοι-αυτὸν-εκεῖθεν-.-
14 So he brought him to the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered a bull and a ram on each altar.
καὶ-παρέλαβεν-αυτὸν-εις-αγροῦ-σκοπιὰν-επὶ-κορυφὴν-λελαξευμένου-καὶ-ωκοδόμησεν-εκεῖ-επτὰ-βωμοὺς-καὶ-ανεβίβασεν-μόσχον-καὶ-κριὸν-επὶ-τὸν-βωμόν-.-
15 And he said to Balak, “Stand here by your burnt offering while I meet the LORD over there.”
καὶ-εῖπεν-Βαλααμ-πρὸς-Βαλακ-Παράστηθι-επὶ-τῆς-θυσίας-σου-,-εγὼ-δὲ-πορεύσομαι-επερωτῆσαι-τὸν-θεόν-.-
16 Then the LORD met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, “Go back to Balak, and thus you shall speak.”
καὶ-συνήντησεν-ο-θεὸς-τῶ-Βαλααμ-καὶ-ενέβαλεν-ρῆμα-εις-τὸ-στόμα-αυτοῦ-καὶ-εῖπεν-Αποστράφητι-πρὸς-Βαλακ-καὶ-τάδε-λαλήσεις-.-
17 So he came to him, and there he was, standing by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab were with him. And Balak said to him, “What has the LORD spoken?”
καὶ-απεστράφη-πρὸς-αυτόν-,-καὶ-όδε-εφειστήκει-επὶ-τῆς-ολοκαυτώσεως-αυτοῦ-,-καὶ-πάντες-οι-άρχοντες-Μωαβ-μετ᾿-αυτοῦ-.-καὶ-εῖπεν-αυτῶ-Βαλακ-Τί-ελάλησεν-κύριος-;-
18 Then he took up his oracle and said: “Rise up, Balak, and hear! Listen to me, son of Zippor!
καὶ-αναλαβὼν-τὴν-παραβολὴν-αυτοῦ-εῖπεν-Ανάστηθι-,-Βαλακ-,-καὶ-άκουε-·-ενώτισαι-μάρτυς-,-υιὸς-Σεπφωρ-.-
19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
ουχ-ως-άνθρωπος-ο-θεὸς-διαρτηθῆναι-ουδὲ-ως-υιὸς-ανθρώπου-απειληθῆναι-·-αυτὸς-είπας-ουχὶ-ποιήσει-;-λαλήσει-,-καὶ-ουχὶ-εμμενεῖ-;-
20 Behold, I have received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.
ιδοὺ-ευλογεῖν-παρείλημμαι-·-ευλογήσω-καὶ-ου-μὴ-αποστρέψω-.-
21 “He has not observed iniquity in Jacob, Nor has He seen wickedness in Israel. The LORD his God is with him, And the shout of a King is among them.
ουκ-έσται-μόχθος-εν-Ιακωβ-,-ουδὲ-οφθήσεται-πόνος-εν-Ισραηλ-·-κύριος-ο-θεὸς-αυτοῦ-μετ᾿-αυτοῦ-,-τὰ-ένδοξα-αρχόντων-εν-αυτῶ-.-
22 God brings them out of Egypt; He has strength like a wild ox.
θεὸς-ο-εξαγαγὼν-αυτοὺς-εξ-Αιγύπτου-·-ως-δόξα-μονοκέρωτος-αυτῶ-.-
23 “For there is no sorcery against Jacob, Nor any divination against Israel. It now must be said of Jacob And of Israel, ‘Oh, what God has done!’
ου-γάρ-εστιν-οιωνισμὸς-εν-Ιακωβ-ουδὲ-μαντεία-εν-Ισραηλ-·-κατὰ-καιρὸν-ρηθήσεται-Ιακωβ-καὶ-τῶ-Ισραηλ-,-τί-επιτελέσει-ο-θεός-.-
24 Look, a people rises like a lioness, And lifts itself up like a lion; It shall not lie down until it devours the prey, And drinks the blood of the slain.”
ιδοὺ-λαὸς-ως-σκύμνος-αναστήσεται-καὶ-ως-λέων-γαυριωθήσεται-·-ου-κοιμηθήσεται-,-έως-φάγη-θήραν-,-καὶ-αῖμα-τραυματιῶν-πίεται-.-
25 Then Balak said to Balaam, “Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all!”
καὶ-εῖπεν-Βαλακ-πρὸς-Βαλααμ-Ούτε-κατάραις-καταράση-μοι-αυτὸν-ούτε-ευλογῶν-μὴ-ευλογήσης-αυτόν-.-
26 So Balaam answered and said to Balak, “Did I not tell you, saying, ‘All that the LORD speaks, that I must do’?”
καὶ-αποκριθεὶς-Βαλααμ-εῖπεν-τῶ-Βαλακ-Ουκ-ελάλησά-σοι-λέγων-Τὸ-ρῆμα-,-ὸ-εὰν-λαλήση-ο-θεός-,-τοῦτο-ποιήσω-;-
27 Then Balak said to Balaam, “Please come, I will take you to another place; perhaps it will please God that you may curse them for me from there.”
Καὶ-εῖπεν-Βαλακ-πρὸς-Βαλααμ-Δεῦρο-παραλάβω-σε-εις-τόπον-άλλον-,-ει-αρέσει-τῶ-θεῶ-καὶ-καταρᾶσαί-μοι-αυτὸν-εκεῖθεν-.-
28 So Balak took Balaam to the top of Peor, that overlooks the wasteland.
καὶ-παρέλαβεν-Βαλακ-τὸν-Βαλααμ-επὶ-κορυφὴν-τοῦ-Φογωρ-τὸ-παρατεῖνον-εις-τὴν-έρημον-.-
29 Then Balaam said to Balak, “Build for me here seven altars, and prepare for me here seven bulls and seven rams.”
καὶ-εῖπεν-Βαλααμ-πρὸς-Βαλακ-Οικοδόμησόν-μοι-ῶδε-επτὰ-βωμοὺς-καὶ-ετοίμασόν-μοι-ῶδε-επτὰ-μόσχους-καὶ-επτὰ-κριούς-.-
30 And Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered a bull and a ram on every altar.
καὶ-εποίησεν-Βαλακ-καθάπερ-εῖπεν-αυτῶ-Βαλααμ-,-καὶ-ανήνεγκεν-μόσχον-καὶ-κριὸν-επὶ-τὸν-βωμόν-.-
