1 Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, And give attention to know understanding;
Ακούσατε-,-παῖδες-,-παιδείαν-πατρὸς-καὶ-προσέχετε-γνῶναι-έννοιαν-·-
2 For I give you good doctrine: Do not forsake my law.
δῶρον-γὰρ-αγαθὸν-δωροῦμαι-υμῖν-,-τὸν-εμὸν-νόμον-μὴ-εγκαταλίπητε-.-
3 When I was my father’s son, Tender and the only one in the sight of my mother,
υιὸς-γὰρ-εγενόμην-καγὼ-πατρὶ-υπήκοος-καὶ-αγαπώμενος-εν-προσώπω-μητρός-,-
4 He also taught me, and said to me: “Let your heart retain my words; Keep my commands, and live.
οὶ-έλεγον-καὶ-εδίδασκόν-με-Ερειδέτω-ο-ημέτερος-λόγος-εις-σὴν-καρδίαν-·-
5 Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth.
φύλασσε-εντολάς-,-μὴ-επιλάθη-μηδὲ-παρίδης-ρῆσιν-εμοῦ-στόματος-
6 Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will keep you.
μηδὲ-εγκαταλίπης-αυτήν-,-καὶ-ανθέξεταί-σου-·-εράσθητι-αυτῆς-,-καὶ-τηρήσει-σε-·-
7 Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.

8 Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her.
περιχαράκωσον-αυτήν-,-καὶ-υψώσει-σε-·-τίμησον-αυτήν-,-ίνα-σε-περιλάβη-,-
9 She will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory she will deliver to you.”
ίνα-δῶ-τῆ-σῆ-κεφαλῆ-στέφανον-χαρίτων-,-στεφάνω-δὲ-τρυφῆς-υπερασπίση-σου-.-
10 Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, And the years of your life will be many.
Άκουε-,-υιέ-,-καὶ-δέξαι-εμοὺς-λόγους-,-καὶ-πληθυνθήσεται-έτη-ζωῆς-σου-,-ίνα-σοι-γένωνται-πολλαὶ-οδοὶ-βίου-·-
11 I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths.
οδοὺς-γὰρ-σοφίας-διδάσκω-σε-,-εμβιβάζω-δέ-σε-τροχιαῖς-ορθαῖς-.-
12 When you walk, your steps will not be hindered, And when you run, you will not stumble.
εὰν-γὰρ-πορεύη-,-ου-συγκλεισθήσεταί-σου-τὰ-διαβήματα-·-εὰν-δὲ-τρέχης-,-ου-κοπιάσεις-.-
13 Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; Keep her, for she is your life.
επιλαβοῦ-εμῆς-παιδείας-,-μὴ-αφῆς-,-αλλὰ-φύλαξον-αυτὴν-σεαυτῶ-εις-ζωήν-σου-.-
14 Do not enter the path of the wicked, And do not walk in the way of evil.
οδοὺς-ασεβῶν-μὴ-επέλθης-μηδὲ-ζηλώσης-οδοὺς-παρανόμων-·-
15 Avoid it, do not travel on it; Turn away from it and pass on.
εν-ῶ-ὰν-τόπω-στρατοπεδεύσωσιν-,-μὴ-επέλθης-εκεῖ-,-έκκλινον-δὲ-απ᾿-αυτῶν-καὶ-παράλλαξον-.-
16 For they do not sleep unless they have done evil; And their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall.
ου-γὰρ-μὴ-υπνώσωσιν-,-εὰν-μὴ-κακοποιήσωσιν-·-αφήρηται-ο-ύπνος-αυτῶν-,-καὶ-ου-κοιμῶνται-·-
17 For they eat the bread of wickedness, And drink the wine of violence.
οίδε-γὰρ-σιτοῦνται-σῖτα-ασεβείας-,-οίνω-δὲ-παρανόμω-μεθύσκονται-.-
18 But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.
αι-δὲ-οδοὶ-τῶν-δικαίων-ομοίως-φωτὶ-λάμπουσιν-,-προπορεύονται-καὶ-φωτίζουσιν-,-έως-κατορθώση-η-ημέρα-·-
19 The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know what makes them stumble.
αι-δὲ-οδοὶ-τῶν-ασεβῶν-σκοτειναί-,-ουκ-οίδασιν-πῶς-προσκόπτουσιν-.-
20 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.
Υιέ-,-εμῆ-ρήσει-πρόσεχε-,-τοῖς-δὲ-εμοῖς-λόγοις-παράβαλε-σὸν-οῦς-,-
21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart;
όπως-μὴ-εκλίπωσίν-σε-αι-πηγαί-σου-,-φύλασσε-αυτὰς-εν-σῆ-καρδία-·-
22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
ζωὴ-γάρ-εστιν-τοῖς-ευρίσκουσιν-αυτὰς-καὶ-πάση-σαρκὶ-ίασις-.-
23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.
πάση-φυλακῆ-τήρει-σὴν-καρδίαν-·-εκ-γὰρ-τούτων-έξοδοι-ζωῆς-.-
24 Put away from you a deceitful mouth, And put perverse lips far from you.
περίελε-σεαυτοῦ-σκολιὸν-στόμα-καὶ-άδικα-χείλη-μακρὰν-απὸ-σοῦ-άπωσαι-.-
25 Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you.
οι-οφθαλμοί-σου-ορθὰ-βλεπέτωσαν-,-τὰ-δὲ-βλέφαρά-σου-νευέτω-δίκαια-.-
26 Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established.
ορθὰς-τροχιὰς-ποίει-σοῖς-ποσὶν-καὶ-τὰς-οδούς-σου-κατεύθυνε-.-
27 Do not turn to the right or the left; Remove your foot from evil.
μὴ-εκκλίνης-εις-τὰ-δεξιὰ-μηδὲ-εις-τὰ-αριστερά-,-απόστρεψον-δὲ-σὸν-πόδα-απὸ-οδοῦ-κακῆς-·-[-οδοὺς-γὰρ-τὰς-εκ-δεξιῶν-οῖδεν-ο-θεός-,-διεστραμμέναι-δέ-εισιν-αι-εξ-αριστερῶν-·]-αυτὸς-δὲ-ορθὰς-ποιήσει-τὰς-τροχιάς-σου-,-τὰς-δὲ-πορείας-σου-εν-ειρήνη-προάξει-.-
