1 My son, do not forget my law, But let your heart keep my commands;
Υιέ-,-εμῶν-νομίμων-μὴ-επιλανθάνου-,-τὰ-δὲ-ρήματά-μου-τηρείτω-σὴ-καρδία-·-
2 For length of days and long life And peace they will add to you.
μῆκος-γὰρ-βίου-καὶ-έτη-ζωῆς-καὶ-ειρήνην-προσθήσουσίν-σοι-.-
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart,
ελεημοσύναι-καὶ-πίστεις-μὴ-εκλιπέτωσάν-σε-,-άφαψαι-δὲ-αυτὰς-επὶ-σῶ-τραχήλω-,-καὶ-ευρήσεις-χάριν-·-
4 And so find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man.
καὶ-προνοοῦ-καλὰ-ενώπιον-κυρίου-καὶ-ανθρώπων-.-
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
ίσθι-πεποιθὼς-εν-όλη-καρδία-επὶ-θεῶ-,-επὶ-δὲ-σῆ-σοφία-μὴ-επαίρου-·-
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
εν-πάσαις-οδοῖς-σου-γνώριζε-αυτήν-,-ίνα-ορθοτομῆ-τὰς-οδούς-σου-,-[-ο-δὲ-πούς-σου-ου-μὴ-προσκόπτη-.]-
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil.
μὴ-ίσθι-φρόνιμος-παρὰ-σεαυτῶ-,-φοβοῦ-δὲ-τὸν-θεὸν-καὶ-έκκλινε-απὸ-παντὸς-κακοῦ-·-
8 It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.
τότε-ίασις-έσται-τῶ-σώματί-σου-καὶ-επιμέλεια-τοῖς-οστέοις-σου-.-
9 Honor the LORD with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase;
τίμα-τὸν-κύριον-απὸ-σῶν-δικαίων-πόνων-καὶ-απάρχου-αυτῶ-απὸ-σῶν-καρπῶν-δικαιοσύνης-,-
10 So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.
ίνα-πίμπληται-τὰ-ταμίειά-σου-πλησμονῆς-σίτου-,-οίνω-δὲ-αι-ληνοί-σου-εκβλύζωσιν-.-
11 My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, Nor detest His correction;
Υιέ-,-μὴ-ολιγώρει-παιδείας-κυρίου-μηδὲ-εκλύου-υπ᾿-αυτοῦ-ελεγχόμενος-·-
12 For whom the LORD loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.
ὸν-γὰρ-αγαπᾶ-κύριος-παιδεύει-,-μαστιγοῖ-δὲ-πάντα-υιὸν-ὸν-παραδέχεται-.-
13 Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding;
μακάριος-άνθρωπος-ὸς-εῦρεν-σοφίαν-καὶ-θνητὸς-ὸς-εῖδεν-φρόνησιν-·-
14 For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold.
κρεῖττον-γὰρ-αυτὴν-εμπορεύεσθαι-ὴ-χρυσίου-καὶ-αργυρίου-θησαυρούς-.-
15 She is more precious than rubies, And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.
τιμιωτέρα-δέ-εστιν-λίθων-πολυτελῶν-,-ουκ-αντιτάξεται-αυτῆ-ουδὲν-πονηρόν-·-εύγνωστός-εστιν-πᾶσιν-τοῖς-εγγίζουσιν-αυτῆ-,-πᾶν-δὲ-τίμιον-ουκ-άξιον-αυτῆς-εστιν-.-
16 Length of days is in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor.
μῆκος-γὰρ-βίου-καὶ-έτη-ζωῆς-εν-τῆ-δεξιᾶ-αυτῆς-,-εν-δὲ-τῆ-αριστερᾶ-αυτῆς-πλοῦτος-καὶ-δόξα-·-16a-εκ-τοῦ-στόματος-αυτῆς-εκπορεύεται-δικαιοσύνη-,-νόμον-δὲ-καὶ-έλεον-επὶ-γλώσσης-φορεῖ-.-
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace.
αι-οδοὶ-αυτῆς-οδοὶ-καλαί-,-καὶ-πάντες-οι-τρίβοι-αυτῆς-εν-ειρήνη-·-
18 She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, And happy are all who retain her.
ξύλον-ζωῆς-εστι-πᾶσι-τοῖς-αντεχομένοις-αυτῆς-,-καὶ-τοῖς-επερειδομένοις-επ᾿-αυτὴν-ως-επὶ-κύριον-ασφαλής-.-
19 The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; By understanding He established the heavens;
ο-θεὸς-τῆ-σοφία-εθεμελίωσεν-τὴν-γῆν-,-ητοίμασεν-δὲ-ουρανοὺς-εν-φρονήσει-·-
20 By His knowledge the depths were broken up, And clouds drop down the dew.
εν-αισθήσει-άβυσσοι-ερράγησαν-,-νέφη-δὲ-ερρύησαν-δρόσους-.-
21 My son, let them not depart from your eyes— Keep sound wisdom and discretion;
Υιέ-,-μὴ-παραρρυῆς-,-τήρησον-δὲ-εμὴν-βουλὴν-καὶ-έννοιαν-,-
22 So they will be life to your soul And grace to your neck.
ίνα-ζήση-η-ψυχή-σου-,-καὶ-χάρις-ῆ-περὶ-σῶ-τραχήλω-.-22a-έσται-δὲ-ίασις-ταῖς-σαρξί-σου-καὶ-επιμέλεια-τοῖς-σοῖς-οστέοις-,-
23 Then you will walk safely in your way, And your foot will not stumble.
ίνα-πορεύη-πεποιθὼς-εν-ειρήνη-πάσας-τὰς-οδούς-σου-,-ο-δὲ-πούς-σου-ου-μὴ-προσκόψη-.-
24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.
εὰν-γὰρ-κάθη-,-άφοβος-έση-,-εὰν-δὲ-καθεύδης-,-ηδέως-υπνώσεις-·-
25 Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes;
καὶ-ου-φοβηθήση-πτόησιν-επελθοῦσαν-ουδὲ-ορμὰς-ασεβῶν-επερχομένας-·-
26 For the LORD will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught.
ο-γὰρ-κύριος-έσται-επὶ-πασῶν-οδῶν-σου-καὶ-ερείσει-σὸν-πόδα-,-ίνα-μὴ-σαλευθῆς-.-
27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in the power of your hand to do so.
μὴ-απόσχη-εῦ-ποιεῖν-ενδεῆ-,-ηνίκα-ὰν-έχη-η-χείρ-σου-βοηθεῖν-·-
28 Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come back, And tomorrow I will give it,” When you have it with you.
μὴ-είπης-Επανελθὼν-επάνηκε-καὶ-αύριον-δώσω-,-δυνατοῦ-σου-όντος-εῦ-ποιεῖν-·-ου-γὰρ-οῖδας-τί-τέξεται-η-επιοῦσα-.-
29 Do not devise evil against your neighbor, For he dwells by you for safety’s sake.
μὴ-τεκτήνη-επὶ-σὸν-φίλον-κακὰ-παροικοῦντα-καὶ-πεποιθότα-επὶ-σοί-.-
30 Do not strive with a man without cause, If he has done you no harm.
μὴ-φιλεχθρήσης-πρὸς-άνθρωπον-μάτην-,-μή-τι-εις-σὲ-εργάσηται-κακόν-.-
31 Do not envy the oppressor, And choose none of his ways;
μὴ-κτήση-κακῶν-ανδρῶν-ονείδη-μηδὲ-ζηλώσης-τὰς-οδοὺς-αυτῶν-·-
32 For the perverse person is an abomination to the LORD, But His secret counsel is with the upright.
ακάθαρτος-γὰρ-έναντι-κυρίου-πᾶς-παράνομος-,-εν-δὲ-δικαίοις-ου-συνεδριάζει-.-
33 The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked, But He blesses the home of the just.
κατάρα-θεοῦ-εν-οίκοις-ασεβῶν-,-επαύλεις-δὲ-δικαίων-ευλογοῦνται-.-
34 Surely He scorns the scornful, But gives grace to the humble.
κύριος-υπερηφάνοις-αντιτάσσεται-,-ταπεινοῖς-δὲ-δίδωσιν-χάριν-.-
35 The wise shall inherit glory, But shame shall be the legacy of fools.
δόξαν-σοφοὶ-κληρονομήσουσιν-,-οι-δὲ-ασεβεῖς-ύψωσαν-ατιμίαν-.-
