1 Then the men of Ephraim gathered together, crossed over toward Zaphon, and said to Jephthah, “Why did you cross over to fight against the people of Ammon, and did not call us to go with you? We will burn your house down on you with fire!”
Καὶ-συνήχθησαν-οι-υιοὶ-Εφραιμ-καὶ-ῆλθον-εις-Σεφινα-καὶ-εῖπον-πρὸς-Ιεφθαε-Τί-ότι-επορεύθης-πολεμεῖν-εν-τοῖς-υιοῖς-Αμμων-καὶ-ημᾶς-ου-κέκληκας-πορευθῆναι-μετὰ-σοῦ-;-τὸν-οῖκόν-σου-εμπρήσομεν-εν-πυρί-.-
2 And Jephthah said to them, “My people and I were in a great struggle with the people of Ammon; and when I called you, you did not deliver me out of their hands.
καὶ-εῖπεν-πρὸς-αυτοὺς-Ιεφθαε-Ανὴρ-αντιδικῶν-ήμην-εγὼ-καὶ-ο-λαός-μου-,-καὶ-οι-υιοὶ-Αμμων-εταπείνουν-με-σφόδρα-·-καὶ-εβόησα-πρὸς-υμᾶς-,-καὶ-ουκ-εσώσατέ-με-εκ-χειρὸς-αυτῶν-.-
3 So when I saw that you would not deliver me, I took my life in my hands and crossed over against the people of Ammon; and the LORD delivered them into my hand. Why then have you come up to me this day to fight against me?”
καὶ-εῖδον-ότι-ουκ-ῆν-ο-σώζων-,-καὶ-εθέμην-τὴν-ψυχήν-μου-εν-τῆ-χειρί-μου-καὶ-διέβην-πρὸς-τοὺς-υιοὺς-Αμμων-,-καὶ-παρέδωκεν-αυτοὺς-κύριος-εν-χειρί-μου-·-καὶ-ίνα-τί-ανέβητε-πρός-με-τῆ-ημέρα-ταύτη-τοῦ-πολεμεῖν-εν-εμοί-;-
4 Now Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead and fought against Ephraim. And the men of Gilead defeated Ephraim, because they said, “You Gileadites are fugitives of Ephraim among the Ephraimites and among the Manassites.”
καὶ-συνήθροισεν-Ιεφθαε-πάντας-τοὺς-άνδρας-Γαλααδ-καὶ-επολέμει-τὸν-Εφραιμ-,-καὶ-επάταξαν-άνδρες-Γαλααδ-τὸν-Εφραιμ-,-ότι-εῖπαν-Οι-διασεσωσμένοι-τοῦ-Εφραιμ-υμεῖς-,-Γαλααδ-εν-μέσω-Εφραιμ-καὶ-εν-μέσω-Μανασση-.-
5 The Gileadites seized the fords of the Jordan before the Ephraimites arrived. And when any Ephraimite who escaped said, “Let me cross over,” the men of Gilead would say to him, “Are you an Ephraimite?” If he said, “No,”
καὶ-προκατελάβοντο-άνδρες-Γαλααδ-τὰς-διαβάσεις-τοῦ-Ιορδάνου-τοῦ-Εφραιμ-,-καὶ-εγενήθη-ότι-εῖπαν-οι-διασεσωσμένοι-τοῦ-Εφραιμ-Διαβῶμεν-,-καὶ-εῖπαν-αυτοῖς-οι-άνδρες-Γαλααδ-Μὴ-υμεῖς-εκ-τοῦ-Εφραιμ-;-καὶ-εῖπαν-Ούκ-εσμεν-.-
6 then they would say to him, “Then say, ‘Shibboleth’!” And he would say, “Sibboleth,” for he could not pronounce it right. Then they would take him and kill him at the fords of the Jordan. There fell at that time forty-two thousand Ephraimites.
καὶ-εῖπαν-αυτοῖς-Είπατε-δὴ-Σύνθημα-·-καὶ-ου-κατηύθυναν-τοῦ-λαλῆσαι-ούτως-.-καὶ-επελάβοντο-αυτῶν-καὶ-έσφαξαν-αυτοὺς-επὶ-τὰς-διαβάσεις-τοῦ-Ιορδάνου-,-καὶ-έπεσαν-εξ-Εφραιμ-εν-τῶ-καιρῶ-εκείνω-δύο-τεσσαράκοντα-χιλιάδες-.-
7 And Jephthah judged Israel six years. Then Jephthah the Gileadite died and was buried in among the cities of Gilead.
Καὶ-έκρινεν-Ιεφθαε-τὸν-Ισραηλ-ὲξ-έτη-.-καὶ-απέθανεν-Ιεφθαε-ο-Γαλααδίτης-καὶ-ετάφη-εν-τῆ-πόλει-αυτοῦ-Γαλααδ-.-
8 After him, Ibzan of Bethlehem judged Israel.
Καὶ-έκρινεν-μετ᾿-αυτὸν-τὸν-Ισραηλ-Εσεβων-εκ-Βαιθλεεμ-.-
9 He had thirty sons. And he gave away thirty daughters in marriage, and brought in thirty daughters from elsewhere for his sons. He judged Israel seven years.
καὶ-εγένοντο-αυτῶ-τριάκοντα-υιοὶ-καὶ-τριάκοντα-θυγατέρες-εξαπεσταλμέναι-έξω-,-καὶ-τριάκοντα-γυναῖκας-εισήγαγεν-τοῖς-υιοῖς-αυτοῦ-έξωθεν-.-καὶ-έκρινεν-τὸν-Ισραηλ-επτὰ-έτη-.-
10 Then Ibzan died and was buried at Bethlehem.
καὶ-απέθανεν-Εσεβων-καὶ-ετάφη-εν-Βηθλεεμ-.-
11 After him, Elon the Zebulunite judged Israel. He judged Israel ten years.
Καὶ-έκρινεν-μετ᾿-αυτὸν-τὸν-Ισραηλ-Αιλων-ο-Ζαβουλωνίτης-.-καὶ-έκρινεν-τὸν-Ισραηλ-δέκα-έτη-.-
12 And Elon the Zebulunite died and was buried at Aijalon in the country of Zebulun.
καὶ-απέθανεν-Αιλων-ο-Ζαβουλωνίτης-εν-Αιλιμ-,-καὶ-έθαψαν-αυτὸν-εν-γῆ-Ζαβουλων-.-
13 After him, Abdon the son of Hillel the Pirathonite judged Israel.
Καὶ-έκρινεν-μετ᾿-αυτὸν-τὸν-Ισραηλ-Λαβδων-υιὸς-Σελλημ-ο-Φρααθωνίτης-.-
14 He had forty sons and thirty grandsons, who rode on seventy young donkeys. He judged Israel eight years.
καὶ-εγένοντο-αυτῶ-τεσσαράκοντα-υιοὶ-καὶ-τριάκοντα-υιοὶ-τῶν-υιῶν-αυτοῦ-επιβεβηκότες-επὶ-εβδομήκοντα-πώλους-.-καὶ-έκρινεν-τὸν-Ισραηλ-οκτὼ-έτη-.-
15 Then Abdon the son of Hillel the Pirathonite died and was buried in Pirathon in the land of Ephraim, in the mountains of the Amalekites.
καὶ-απέθανεν-Λαβδων-υιὸς-Σελλημ-ο-Φρααθωνίτης-καὶ-ετάφη-εν-Φρααθων-εν-γῆ-Εφραιμ-εν-όρει-Λανακ-.-
